Disney 2026 FAQs
Guiding in Dursley is run completely by volunteers who give their time freely, and often by the bucket load, so that the girls who attend the meetings, events, holidays and camps, enjoy themselves and get the most out of it.

Costs
How much will the trip cost?
The trip will cost £800. You will also need spending money.
However, we will run a range of fundraising opportunities for you to join in with over the next two years, including the Dursley Fireworks event.
We are also able to match fund up to £300 per person from their fundraising efforts. This is thanks to a significant amount we have saved from fundraising for large scale camp that was cancelled because of Covid, and ongoing fundraising by one of our leaders selling obsolete Guiding badges through Covid where we’ve not yet had the opportunity to spend the funds on our adventures.
For those that join in with our range of opportunities, it is very possible that the full cost could be fundraised.

What is the payment schedule?
We will require a £75 per person initial deposit to be paid by 10th June 2024 to secure place(s).
We will then require a further £100 payment by 19th July 2024.
The remaining balance will be required in instalments, but as we carry out fundraising activity this can be deducted from your bill.
We will use Zoho Books to create an invoice for the full amount and add payments to as you make them, or as fundraising and match funding is added to your account so you will be able to easily keep track of you current position.
Are the payments refundable?
If we do not get enough young members signed up to make the trip viable then all initial deposits will be returned in full.
Once we confirm full sign up and place our booking with the travel provider, all payments are non-refundable.
If your young member drops out we will do our best to refill the space. If we do refill the space, then it may be possible to refund some of your fees paid, but this will depend on what costs have already been incurred that can’t be swapped to the new member, or if there is a charge to do this.
No funds received from fundraising events, whether completed as part of the group or individually, will be refunded. The Charity Commission requires funds raised for a certain reason to be used for that reason. In this case the reason is to provide a Disneyland Adventure to members of Girlguiding Dursley district. Your fundraising efforts will go the trip as a whole.
If your young person drops out of the event and we cannot refill the space, you will still be eligible for the full cost of the space as costs per person are based on numbers attending and increase if numbers are reduced.
How do I pay?
Payments can be made by bank transfer to our holiday account. Please note this is not the same account you pay subs to. Please use the child’s name as a reference when making your payments.

We will be travelling by coach from Dursley to our hotel. We will have one pick-up point within the district for everyone. Our coach and drivers will be with us for the duration of the trip.
We will cross the channel on a ferry.
To get from our hotel to the Disney Parks we will use a combination of our own coach and the regular shuttle bus.
How long is the journey?
Door to door including the ferry crossing we are looking at approximately 13.5 hours of travelling each way.

Meals
Where is breakfast?
Breakfast on day one will be packed from home.
Breakfast on the other days will be provided in the hotel.
Where will the evening meals be?
The evening meal on our arrival day will be in the hotel. On our two park days we will be eating in a Disney restaurant. The exact restaurant is yet to be confirmed (as this will depend on our total numbers) but it will most likely be a buffet style restaurant.
What about lunches?
We will be asking people to bring a packed lunch and snacks with them on the first travel day. On the other days, including for our journey home, the hotel will provide us with a packed lunch to take with us.
What if I have dietary requirements?
We can inform Disney and the hotel of any dietary requirements and they will be catered for.

Disney Parks
Which parks are we visiting?
We will have two days to visit the Disneyland Park and the Walt Disney Studios Park. The parks are directly next to each other and it is easy to walk between them. We will be in smaller groups during the days so it will be for the smaller group to decide how much of their time they wish to spend in each park.
What rides and attractions can we see there?
You can find out lots of information about the rides and attractions in the two parks by visiting: www.disneylandparis.com
Will we be visiting as one large group?
Logistically it would be impossible to tour the park as a large district group. Therefore, we will split into smaller groups to explore the park in.
Will my child be accompanied in the parks?
Yes. The only exception to this might be the Rangers. However this depends on how many of them sign up and whether they show themselves to be safe to be let off in their own unaccompanied group. We will discuss this with them and their parents/carers during the planning stages of the trip to cover their safety, etc.
