Fundraising basics

There are a three ways you can fundraise for the trip:

Via the opportunities we're organising as a district
Details of these will be updated below and also shared in the Disney 2026 Facebook group. We will always let you know before the event how the funds will be allocated.

Via opportunities within your own unit
If the group coming from your unit would like to organise things within the unit then please talk to your leader about this. They will agree how monies will be allocated before each event takes place.

Individual fundraising
Anyone is welcome to do their own fundraising for the event, eg a sponsored event, having a car at a car boot sale, or running a mini game amongst their friends. See below for some resources available. When you pay these funds in to the group account, please ensure you email us to let us know how the funds have been raised and so we can match fund it (if appropriate).

Please also keep an eye on our Facebook group just for leaders, parents and carers attending this Disney trip for any last minute opportunities, communications and/or information.

Company match funding
Do you work for a company that offers match funding to it's employees when they support fundraising events? If so, please get in touch with us so we can talk further about how this might help our cause, not just for you own child but the event as a whole.

Grants
If you know of any grants we might apply for, please let us know.
Latest news:

Facebook group
Hear the latest updates and information via our Facebook group just for parents/carers of those coming on the trip.

If you have any other ideas to help us reach our goal, please let us know. Thanks

Individual fundraising tools

Guess the name
Why not have a go at raising funds with one of our guess the name cards?

  • You choose the amount someone pays you for a name, and the winning pay-out from the options below and write it on your card.
  • Then 'sell' all the names on your card, asking people to note their own name in the box of the name they've chosen. If you need to take contact numbers, keep these on a separate, secure space, so those looking for names can't see each other's contact details.
  • Once all your names are sold, scratch off the silver circle to reveal the winning name.
  • Ensure the winner receives their cash prize.
  • Send the remaining money to the event bank account, and email us to let us know. We'll even match fund it!

⭐ Stake per square 50p - cash prize £5
⭐ Stake per square £1 - cash prize £10
⭐
Stake per square £2 - cash prize £20

If you would like one or more of these cards to fundraise with, please email us and we'll get them to you via your unit leaders. There is no cost for the cards.

More info: We can turn your rags into cash via the 'Rags to riches' company.
How you can get involved?
  • Spread the word - tell your friends and family and get them collecting too.
  • Start collecting. Be sure to check out what can and can't be included in the bags.
  • Bring your bags to your unit on the allocated dates.
How will funds be allocated?
  • TBC

If anyone would like to take on coordinating this idea, please let us know.

Berkeley Park run refreshments
Dates: TBC
Times: 8.00 - 10.15am
Location: Berkeley Green, Gloucestershire Science & Technology Park, Berkeley, Glos., GL13 9FB
More info: Our leaders will oversea the running of a refreshment stall. Our young members and a parent/carer can come and run the stall under their guidance. We require 6 volunteers so this is ideally suited to three young people with a parent carer each, on each of the dates.
Visit the Berkeley Green park run Facebook page for more details of their event.
If this is successful, we hope to do more of these events in 2025.
How you can get involved?
  • Sign your young member and a parent/carer up to support the event as a volunteer.
  • Sign up to bake cakes for the event.
How will funds be allocated?
  • The funds raised will be share equally between the young members helping out and those baking cakes. If you do both, you'll get a double allocation.

Santa sleigh (with the Round Table)
Dates: TBC
Times: TBC
Location: TBC
More info: Come and help Santa and The Round Table collect around Sharpness. In return, we will get a donation for helping.
We meet at the Salmon pub at Wanswell at 17:45 for an 18:00 start. It will be all finished by 8pm.
This opportunity is for young members accompanied by their own grown up. Unaccompanied children are not permitted at this event. The law says an adult must not carry the collecting bucket so parents/carers will be holding buckets and the youngsters will be looking fabulous and encouraging people to donate.
We encourage festive wear, but equally we'll need to dress for the weather!
How you can get involved?
  • Sign your young member and a parent/carer up to support the event as a volunteer.
How will funds be allocated?
  • The funds raised will be share equally between the volunteering families.
