Challenge badges

As part of our fundraising effort for the district, we have created several challenge badges. These are custom packs of activities for use with all sections as well as beautiful badges. We do not charge for access to the packs but do charge for the badges, which is how we raise funds.

WINGS challenge

The WINGS challenge was created in 2019 to help us raise funds to take the Guides and Rangers to the WINGS 2020 international camp. Sadly, with the pandemic, the camp was postponed to 2021 and, towards the end of 2020 we heard it was cancelled altogether. We continued to sell the badges and funds raised went towards helping us provide future adventures for the young members of Girlguiding Dursley district.

This challenge is based on a series of Enid Blyton stories about three children who climb a tree, meet some strange but wonderful people and have adventures in magical lands.

Time for tea challenge

Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, complained  of 'having that sinking feeling' during the later afternoon. At the time people would only eat two main meals a day; breakfast and dinner at around 8 o'clock in the evening. The Duchess's answer was a pot of tea and a light snack, eaten during the afternoon.

We should never suffer from a sinking feeling in guiding and to help us and others overcome this, we invite you to take our time for tea challenge.
