Unit archery sessions
As well as the monthly archery club that individuals can sign up to, we are also able to offer sessions on other Friday evenings or at weekends for units to book an archery session. These sessions can be run for up to 12 archers (young members or adults!) and can last between one and two hours. For larger units we can run back to back sessions to allow more girls to take part.
Archery sessions
We can run archery sessions for Brownies, Guides and Rangers or a mixture of these sections. We can also run sessions for adult volunteers and young leaders.
Sessions run at Berkeley Scout Hut, just off Park View Road, Berkeley, GL13 9TD. Sessions cost just £3 per person, per hour. This helps us pay the hall rent and towards the upkeep of the equipment and consumables. Each session is run by a volunteer who is a qualified archery instructor. A full risk assessment for the activity is also in place and available below. In addition, the unit must provide enough adults to maintain regular guiding ratios (Brownies 1:8, Guides and Rangers 1:12). Our instructors do not count towards these ratios. Unit leaders are responsible for ensuring that all young members have the relevant consent form in place. |
Arrows sessions
We can run Arrows sessions for Rainbows and Brownies or a mixture of these sections. The Arrows set is just like regular archery but with sucker ends to the arrows instead of sharp points. It's a really good starter point for our younger members.
Sessions run at Berkeley Scout Hut, just off Park View Road, Berkeley, GL13 9TD. We are also able to bring this activity to your own venue, subject to having enough space. Sessions cost just £3 per person, per session. This helps us pay the hall rent or travel to your venue, plus towards the upkeep of the equipment and consumables. Travel outside of West division also incurs a mileage cost of 30p per mile. Each session is run by a volunteer who is a qualified archery instructor. A full risk assessment for the activity is also in place and available below. In addition, the unit must provide enough adults to maintain regular guiding ratios (Rainbows 1:5, Brownies 1:8). Our instructors do not count towards these ratios. Unit leaders are responsible for ensuring that all young members have the relevant consent form in place. |
